Highlights of the scientific program will include the use of digital technology and CAD/CAM techniques in support of implant therapy, a focus on the prevention and management of complications, and the value of long-term follow-up research.
“The Scientific Committee has developed a highly interesting and diverse program for both scientists and dental professionals. Clinical research is very much about making new observations. It is important that new information and experiences are shared with colleagues,” says Jan Lindhe, Professor of Periodontology at The Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, Sweden, and chairman of the Scientific Committee.
A new feature at this year’s conference will be a session for the auxiliary team members. Leading educators and clinicians will examine the various roles required in the growth of a successful implant practice that delivers the best patient outcomes.
Astra Tech has developed and scientifically documented its dental implant system for over 20 years. To further support research, Astra Tech has also established The Astra Tech Scientific Award for Applied Research in Osseointegration.
A $15,000 prize will be presented at the congress to the candidate selected by the independent Scientific Award Committee led by Tomas Albrektsson, Professor of Biomaterial Research at The Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
